Full Regalia For Queen’s Birthday

Persons from across the Territory, including government officials, gathered earlier today, June 17, to officially celebrate the birthday of the Queen of England, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The celebration saw the armed and unarmed forces of the Territory, along with several non-profit organizations, charities and school groups, in full regalia, participate in a parade and march-past, on the vacant lot behind the Central Administration building.

During the parade, all the troops were personally inspected by the Governor, Mr. John Duncan, OBE, who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Michael Matthews.

The celebration also saw several officers from armed and unarmed forces in the Territory, being recognized and awarded for their long standing service.

For their years of long service and good conduct to the Police Force, medals were awarded to (18 years) Constable Douglas Blyden, Constable Joanne George, Constable Lola Stevens and Constable Dwight Williams; (25 years) Superintendent Jacqueline Vanterpool, Inspector Dariel Robinson, Inspector Adrian Kartick, Inspector Smyrna Brewley and Sergeant Donna Monsanto; (30 years) Chief inspector Paula Hazel-Alleyne and Chief Inspector Dennis Jones.

For their years of long service and good conduct to the Fire & Rescue Brigade, medals were awarded to (25 years) Chief Fire Officer Zebalon Mclean, Leading Fire Officer Samuel Lettesome, Sub Officer Alexander Parillon and Fire Officer Walden Powell; (30 years) Deputy Chief Fire Officer William Penn, Station Officer Tyronne Caddle, Station Officer Melvin Jeffers, Sub Officer Victor Williams and Sub officer Geraldo Barry.

For their years of long service and good conduct to the Prison Service, medals were awarded to (18 years) Grade 1 Officer Rudolph Jackson and Grade 1 Officer Ava Donovan; (30 years) Principal Officer Alexander Mills.
